Shadow's How-To Series - Airbag Light Reset Tool
So I found myself in need of building this mysterious tool, so I figured I'd share what I did...

All credit for the tool itself goes to SCOTT MDT at Toyota Celicas Online. The photos are my own and the instructions are his.
Many thanks Scott!!!

So here goes:

If anyone has need of more photos of the process, I can build another one. For now all I have are finished pictures.

The total size is that of 2 "AA" batteries.

Parts Needed:

I used a "AA" battery holder from Radio Shack and gutted it.

Radio Shack switch no. 275-1549 (It's a momentary switch and has 3 prongs)
Radio Shack LED no. 276-270 (or any 12v led)
4 conductor 24 gauge hook up wire

Tools Needed:
Soldering iron
Solder
flux (for easier soldering)
wire stripper
Drill bit index

Drill (  )

1. Make a mark to center your drill bit and make sure you can fit both your led and switch in place inside the casing.

2. Drill out your holes.

3. Solder the BLACK wire (from the 4 conductor ribbon) on the #1 post. (left post)

4. Solder the GREEN wire (from the 4 conductor ribbon) on the #2 post. (center post)

5. Solder the RED wire (from the 4 conductor ribbon) and the BLACK wire together (from the LED) on the #3 post. (right post)

6. Solder the WHITE wire (from the 4 conductor ribbon) and the RED wire (from the LED) together.

7. Make a label or print out a sheet with the following on it:

AB-----RED
E1---GREEN
TC---BLACK
+B---WHITE

Using your reset tool

1. Go to the diagnosis box under the hood and open the top. Inside the lid you will find the terminals marked accordingly.

2. Turn the key on, and put the RED wire in the port marked AB. Put the GREEN in the one marked E1, and so on, and so on.

3. When you plug in the last one the led in the cap will flash out the code
that is in memory.

4. Once fixed, hook up the tool and turn the key on press the button on it 3 times at (approximately) 1 second intervals. The light on the cap should flash steadily. This means the code is cleared.

Here's some pics!

I've yet to use this personally but I did build one.

It's legit for those who need to reset codes
