Going to use this space to hold all the info on the Volvo EPS swap in 5th gen Celica.

Why I went this route is I didn’t want to have to deposed my rack for use with the column type Eps, I also didn’t want to cut up under the dash.
I also felt others could easily mimic this in their cars so it allows me to make brackets etc.

More recently I learned AN hose can support these pressures and wanted to test that vs initially I had these crimped by a hydraulic hose and fitting place. I believe you have to run Teflon coated hose and it’s better to run steel or stainless fittings just for safety.

I believe a 60A circuit breaker (factory is 80a) would be adequate, it would just pop at a lower amperage than an 80.
I’m planning to test this in my Corolla along with AN hose.

These are my notes so far:

You’ll want to make sure you get a pump with the connectors and the rubber isolators as buying them after the fact is expensive/the pigtail is mediocre from aftermarket sources.
I don’t have a nice solution yet for the isolators from the aftermarket.

This is what you should try to get (remote reservoir shown)

The wiring pigtails on OE vehicles are far higher quality than what you can get aftermarket, mostly relative to the size of the wiring.
The aftermarket ones are a very small wire gauge.
I think this is the PN of the wiring it was on one of the pumps I removed from the junkyard.

The rubber bushings are not offered elsewhere so it’s best to get them with it.

This is the wire size.
Roughly 4-6 gauge
The aftermarket ones were ~10-12 gauge which isn’t enough.

These are the two connections, a 3/8” hose and a oring fitting listed above

These are the two types of pumps.
Remote reservoir with the inlet pipe up top (3/4” hose I believe, update that soon)
Then fixed reservoir.

I have a remote one in my Celica with a 66 big block chevelle reservoir (only one I could find with one hose port)
You could easily drill a hole for filling a fixed reservoir style using this same bracket.

Here’s the wire you need to hook up if you choose to run this without gps/adjustment knob.

It’s the single wire, not the paired ones.
