Title: Mk3 Supra front bbk!
Post by: cuttyman9 on November 15, 2024, 01:53:33 PM
Mk3(1986-1992) Supra front BBK!

Need a person for a Guinea pig

You'll need:

——————CALIPERS—————
02-10 VW Toureg
03-10 Porsche Cayenne
05-15 Audi Q7

(I have found car-part.com is the cheapest place to search, its an annoying website but yields the cheapest prices outside of local junkyards)

The calipers should say 17ZL and 17ZR (it’s come to my attention most parts stores show the rotor size, 330mm instead of 17z)
PNs 20.8432.06 and 20.8432.05 (see pictures)
(use these numbers to confirm, there are many calipers that look similar but wont work)

—————-HARDWARE—————-

4x M12-1.75x25 (shave down to 24mm)
(McmasterCarr.com PN 90128A296 - Socket cap style bolt or equivalent)

4x M16-1.5x50
(McmasterCarr.com PN 96144A334 - Socket cap style bolt or equivalent)

Spacers included but if you needed the specs:
14.4mm thk spacer, 16.15mm ~0.75” Id, 25mm od

———————-ROTORS—————-
2008-2014 Lexus Isf rotors (360x30)

Stock brake lines can be used although I would recommend getting stainless braided lines as it improves feel vastly.

NOTE:
If you purchased calipers bare the hardware to mount the pads can be had here:

Better picture of what’s required on the knuckle to fit.
These knuckles are insanely bulky and make bbks almost impossible without changes.

The upper hole just needs a light shaving to clear the spacers.
The lower holes require the whole section removed because it projects right into the knuckle.
