Title: 5gc cruise control delete
Post by: cuttyman9 on July 21, 2016, 01:47:54 PM
In my pursuit of more space/simplicity I realized it's time to ditch my cruise control.

I found this forum listed the PN for the delete cable needed for the throttle.

The vacuum module is easy to remove, loop the vacuum line, unhook the connector.

I'll add pics of what I do with the throttle cable, mounting etc.
Supposedly they have non cruise control cars with 5sfe's so it should require much custom. Some of the cars use an electronic cruise control instead of vacuum which is because the abs was in the way.

I would like to add to this. It looks like the shorter cable is no longer in production. With that being said, the factory cable that runs from the pedal to the vacuum diaphragm can be looped over the valve cover and connected to the throttle body without issue.
