Acura TL Type S rear BBK

——-Calipers——-
-2010-2015 Ss Camaro rear calipers
-2012-2020 Tesla model S rear calipers
-Maybe but not confirmed Ctsv v1(04-07)and v2(2008-13)
- Srt8/srt challenger and charger (require a notch near the parking brake area to fit this kit)
Hellcat/scat pack 4 pot rear are yet to be tested.
Confirm the calipers with these PN’s (20.662.00 for left and right)

——-Rotors——-
370z sport rear rotors

——Hardware—-
4x M10-1.5 x 50mm  Hex head screws— link below, confirm the specs before ordering

**steel brackets: use 40mm long hardware**

4x M10-1.5 lock nuts — link below, confirm the specs before ordering

4x M12-1.75 x 60mm socket cap screws — link below, confirm the specs before ordering
**steel brackets: use 30mm long hardware instead**

———Extras———

—5mm spacers (used between the rotor and hub to align the parking brake drum, otherwise it drags on the backing plate. A 3mm spacer could be used with a washer spacing the caliper toward the inside of the car, but it’s a little on the tight side and use at your own risk)

—requires longer studs (arp part number 100-7712, 1 per side)

—Hub rings- 64.1 to 68.1 (Honda to Nissan)
You’ll need to cut them down so it only touches the rotor.
(This is the save cost over spending ~100 for custom aluminum hub rings)

^Hub rings are used to center the Nissan rotor to the Honda hub, they will need to be cut down to sit flush with the rotor so that the wheel hub ring fits.

********Due to inconsistencies with Honda/Acura knuckle casting the brackets/knuckle may require some clearancing. The inconsistencies seem to be random and not specific to any year or type S vs non type S.*******

Pictures thanks to Chris Cansler!
He was the first to install the rear kit.

The backing plate was removed, it’s possible it can be trimmed and bent back but removing it insures you have plenty of room.

This shows the longer studs and the spacer used to offset the rotor to clear the parking brake drum.

You can see the increase in leverage with the larger diameter these rotors offer.

Here are some pictures of them fully installed.

The last picture is something that was brought up to me later.
It seems the control arm mount that runs diagonal that the bracket has a big notch to clear it varies quite heavily.
Between 3 we’ve seen installed there’s been one that clears fine, one that required a little clearancing of the stock knuckles casting flash and the other that took a good bit of clearancing so be aware that it might require a little bit of grinding until the knuckle casting is smooth if you’re one of the unlucky ones. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s TL base or Type S, it’s just casting variation on Honda’s part.
