Almost lost all hope and motivation for my celica
« on: May 14, 2021, 09:48:23 PM »
Hey everyone I originally joined this forum back when it was first created but never posted or interacted with it.

My name is Garrett Im from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Eh?
Ive owned my 91 GT-S for roughly 8 years or 9 years can't remember  ;D

Ill be honest I was really close to selling it a month ago, lost all motivation to do anything with it but as I looked at other cars to possibly replace it with i just couldn't find anything and realized id be making a mistake getting rid of it.

My biggest annoyance with these cars is zero to little aftermarket support and how if you wanna do anything cool with your car it has to be custom made and I don't have the time to do that kind of stuff lol

For context I own a small business (car detailing) and im usually booked up Monday to Saturday and Sundays I just want to relax so it gives me no time to do work on my celica.

I realize ill have to do little by little each week and take my time to hopefully fulfill my dreams of making my celica unique and fun (to me).

anyway I plan on documenting my journey with the celica and hopefully motivate other people to do the same thing!

side note I couldn't bring myself to owning a Honda...... just doesn't feel right, like when you think you have to fart but it's not a fart.

Don’t worry, the community will try to help you along.

If people start having interest in buying off the shelf parts they will start to be made.
The cam aspect isn’t as bad as it sounds since someone parting out an engine will have a set of cams that can be sent in to be modified. Then all you need is either someone to put them in for you and adjust lash appropriately or a day when you’re feeling motivated.
The cams make a big difference.

Suspension wise there still are parts available off the shelf

Brake wise I make brackets for a front upgrade.

Body wise most of it is available now where you can get RC/CS parts.

Just takes time and at the least you’ll have a far more unique car than a civic
